NEWGREEN Co., Ltd. (Japan) Signs a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Agricultural Extension Center of Vietnam (NAEC) and the Loc Troi Group on Research and Implementation of Low-Emission Rice Cultivation Methods

On the morning of March 3, in Hanoi, the Japanese company NEWGREEN Co., Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on strategic cooperation with the National Agricultural Extension Center of Vietnam and the Loc Troi Group. The National Agricultural Extension Center of Vietnam employs roughly 40,000 staff nationwide and serves as the core institution leading the transfer of agricultural technology and the development of sustainable agriculture. The Loc Troi Group, for its part, is a major enterprise underpinning Vietnam's agricultural value chain, operating in an integrated manner from the supply of seeds, agrochemicals, and agricultural services through to the production, processing, and export of rice. In this collaboration, Solara & Co served as the bridge connecting the parties and will continue to provide ongoing support.

Under this MOU, the three parties will establish a framework for research and implementation cooperation on Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) irrigation technology in paddy rice cultivation and on cultivation methods using the Aigamo Robot (duck robot), aiming for the early realization of the "Plan for the Sustainable Development of One Million Hectares of High-Quality, Low-Emission Specialized Rice Cultivation in the Mekong Delta by 2030" as well as greenhouse-gas emission reduction targets in other paddy rice areas.

Building on the promising results already demonstrated at the Loc Troi Group, the three parties will move forward proactively to establish a production line for the duck robot in Vietnam and to expand its user base.
