【Wagyu Restaurant "U444" GRAND OPEN】Serendipitous Ties Connecting the Flavors and Hearts of Japan and Vietnam
On May 9, 2025, "U444," a new Japanese restaurant, celebrated its Grand Open on Le Thanh Ton Street in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. SOLARA & CO extends its heartfelt congratulations.
Our connection with the founders of "U444" came through a chain of fortunate coincidences. At the pre-opening event, we visited together with a Japanese client, and it turned out that this client and U444's Japanese founder had come to know each other through an entirely different route and, by chance, had both been invited to the very same event.
Moreover, while we had already been acquainted with U444's Japanese founder, it later emerged that the other founder, a Vietnamese gentleman, was a senior schoolmate of one of our staff from their student days. It was truly a moment when ties that bridge Japan and Vietnam came together here.
At the pre-opening held on April 17, we were honored to be invited as early guests. On the day of our visit, the food, the service, and the space all conveyed a remarkable degree of refinement. It was hard to believe that the place had still been under construction just two weeks earlier—Japan's delicate sense of aesthetics and the spirit of omotenashi (hospitality) permeated the entire space.
U444's cuisine is a new form of Japanese food in which traditional Japanese techniques are beautifully fused with respect for Vietnam's climate and culture. From the selection of ingredients and the beauty of the plating to the staging of the space itself, it offers value as an "experience," not merely a meal.
